Brenda-Anderson

Brenda Anderson is the founder of Tasting Scotland. She is an advocate of Scotland’s highly respected, world-class food and drink. She is an Ambassador for the World Food Travel Association, based in Portland, USA and a member of the Ambassador Advisory Board. As a former leader of the West Scotland Slow Food group she continues to serve to spread the message that food should be ‘good, clean and fair’.

After training for a career in the Catering and Hospitality Industry she worked in 5 star hotels, both at home in Scotland and overseas. The Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire, the Marriott Hotel on the Gold Coast in Australia and the Michelin starred River Café in London are included on the list.

She has over 18 years experience in teaching Hospitality, Wine and Gastronomy related subjects and as a Chef Lecturer in further and higher education. Her last post was as Head of Food Studies at The City of Glasgow College, Scotland’s largest college.

Her mantra, shared within the Tasting Scotland team is straightforward “if you want to understand a country then understand its food and drink traditions. The Scottish larder is quite simply bursting with iconic food and drink, with each region producing must try specialities with their own unique tale. It’s the tastiest, most accessible way to really get to know a country”.
